Lynn Price – Fused glass
Medium: Fused, kiln-formed and cold-worked glass. Precious and non-precious metals.
My work is inspired by the natural world and its quiet transformations, shaped through the process of kiln-forming, a practice that allows space for both precision and spontaneity. Through this, I seek to highlight the transformative and expressive qualities unique to glass.
I am a formally trained artist whose work explores the delicate balance between fragility and strength, expressed in both two and three-dimensional form. I am continually drawn to the dual nature of glass, solid yet fluid, fragile yet enduring.
After completing a 3/D Design (Hons) degree, specializing in Ceramics and Glass, I was fortunate to continue my training in Siena, Tuscany, where I undertook a glass apprenticeship. Since moving to New Zealand, my practice has been recognized with several awards, I have completed many private commissions and have exhibited widely both here and internationally.
My garden studio is light and spacious, with an inspiring view across the Bay – usually on display are large and small wall art, bowls, experimental work and works in progress.
If you would like to visit my studio outside of the Ruby Coast Arts Trail Open Studio weekends, please text or ring prior for opening times, (or open by appointment).
Lynn welcomes commissions.
